Croatel invests in UHD/HDR OB technology

Over the last year, Croatel has produced football matches for the Croatian Football league, UEFA Champions League and Baku 1st European games, over 150 productions overall.

UHD OB van is wired for 16x Sony HDC-4300 4K/UHD/SSMO and 4x Sony HDC-4800 cameras. Truck is equipped with the latest production video mixer Sony XVS-8000 with 4K option, Audio mixer STUDER VISTA 5 M3, EVS SYSTEM XT 3 Channel MAX 12 Ch Full Editing Replay Servers with 4K option, Multiviewers, Splitters, Sync. Generator and Matrix EQX 288 x 480 3G/4K from Evertz. The coach includes motorized drums for both triax and fibre cables. OB van is expected to make its debut in UEFA league production in Croatia.

Andrius Gedvilas, sales manager for EMEA at TVC, commented on the development of TVC’s first 4K OB truck: “Building our first 4K OB for Croatel was both a challenge and a pleasure for all of us. We worked closely with Croatel to develop and implement the best suited system design. This OB is state of the art with the most innovative solutions like end-to-end 4K production, SDI to IP bridges and VSM control among others.  A significant challenge was to perform the immense scope of wiring due to 4-wire 4K technology. Our wiremen and engineers worked around the clock to install and test all interconnections. The knowledge gained building the first 4K OB is an experience we are looking forward to using in our next big project”.
